The University of Fallujah Council Holds Its Second Meeting in the fifth Session for the Academic Year 2024–2025
The University of Fallujah Council held its second meeting in the fifth regular session for the academic year 2024–2025 on Wednesday, May 14, 2025. The meeting was chaired by the respected President of the University, Prof. Dr. Ahmed Suleiman Hamad, and attended by the Vice President for Scientific Affairs, Prof. Dr. Nahla Naji Hilal, the Vice President for Administrative Affairs, Prof. Dr. Suleiman Barak Al-Jumaili, along with several other council members.
The session began with a welcoming speech by the University President, in which he congratulated Prof. Dr. Nahla Naji Hilal on her appointment as Vice President for Scientific Affairs, and Asst. Prof. Dr. Shirin Hamed Farhan on assuming her duties as Dean of the College of Education, wishing them success in their new responsibilities.
His Excellency praised the efforts made by the scientific and organizing committees that contributed to the success of the two recent scientific conferences, emphasizing the importance of building upon these achievements to further enhance the university’s performance.
The President of the University of Fallujah also reviewed the key points of the directives issued by the Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research, Dr. Naeem Al-Aboudi, during the fourth meeting of the Advisory Commission. He stressed the importance of adhering to these directives and ensuring their implementation by the relevant university departments.
The Council also discussed several important items on its agenda, including:
• Monitoring the progress of final examinations across the university’s colleges.
• Updating the database of scholarship students and establishing a clear mechanism for assigning them academic and administrative positions.
• Enhancing infrastructure through the maintenance of green spaces.
• Supporting new scientific initiatives and projects.
• Developing leadership and administrative skills of university staff.
In this context, the Council made several decisions and recommendations, most notably:
• Adopting an objective mechanism for selecting outstanding faculty members in scientific publishing to teach the Research Methodology course at both undergraduate and postgraduate levels.
• Approving the promotion of a number of faculty members to the rank of Professor.
• Studying mechanisms for managing financial balances in the university’s bank accounts.
• Supporting preventive plans to combat drug abuse.
• Providing the necessary resources for the Center for Biotechnology and Environmental Technologies to enable it to carry out its research activities.
During the session, the Council hosted the Director of the Department of Quality Assurance and University Performance, Prof. Dr. Ahmed Sami Jarad, who presented a detailed overview of the department’s current work and future plans to improve performance.
At the conclusion of the meeting, the respected University President, Prof. Dr. Ahmed Suleiman Hamad, extended his thanks and appreciation to the Council members, commending their continued efforts in advancing the university’s academic and research mission.
