President of the University of Fallujah Leads the University Delegation Participating in the Baghdad, Capital of Arab Tourism 2025 Conference
On Thursday, May 29, 2025, the respected President of the University of Fallujah, Prof. Dr. Ahmed Suleiman Hamad, led a university delegation attending the opening of the conference titled “Baghdad, Capital of Arab Tourism,” organized by the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research. The event was held under the patronage of His Excellency Minister Dr. Naeem Al-Aboudi, in collaboration with the National Committee for Community Awareness and Guidance at the Prime Minister’s Office, and was attended by a broad range of official, diplomatic, and academic figures.
The delegation included Prof. Dr. Nahla Naji Hilal, Vice President for Scientific Affairs; Prof. Dr. Mohammed Jasim Abd, Dean of the College of Islamic Sciences; and Asst. Prof. Dr. Muhannad Khalifa Obaid, Dean of the College of Administration and Economics.
The conference was held in celebration of Baghdad’s selection as the Capital of Arab Tourism for 2025, reflecting the importance of coordinating efforts and integrating roles among state institutions to strengthen Baghdad’s cultural identity and reinforce its status as a leading tourist destination in the Arab world.
In his remarks during the conference sessions, Prof. Dr. Ahmed Suleiman Hamad highlighted the significance of this cultural event in promoting Iraq’s civilizational image. He emphasized the need to support sustainable tourism through scientific research and academic insight capable of advancing this vital sector.
Hosted by the University of Baghdad, the conference addressed various mechanisms for promoting sustainable tourism and shed light on Baghdad’s rich cultural and historical heritage as a distinguished civilizational and cultural hub, qualifying it to be at the forefront of Arab tourism destinations.
