The 2024 Shanghai Ranking of the 1000 Best Universities in the World has been published.
Harvard University topped the rankings, followed by Stanford University and the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT).
Universities are ranked based on criteria such as the number of Nobel Prize and Fields Medal winners among graduates and staff, and the number of papers published in journals such as Nature and Science.
In addition to American universities, there are other universities around the world that have achieved advanced ranks.
