Department of Academic Affairs ​​​​​​​ 

   The DAA staff is mandated to organize and follow up on scientific, research, and creative activities for the UF faculty\staff. It also keeps liaison and coordination with the academic vice deans and programs directors, under the direct guidance of the UF Chancellor.


The Department consists of two three offices:

  1. Office of Research Affairs
  2. Office of Knowledge Marketing
  3. Office of Documentations Duties

  • Monitor and organize the university scientific activities in collaboration with the faculties, including conferences, seminars, workshops and discussion sessions.
  • Document the off-on campus faculty academic activities.   
  • Recommend letters of appreciation from the university president to faculty members who publish in Scopus-indexed journals and letters of appreciation from Vice Chancellor to those who publish in internationally or locally peer-reviewed journals with a significant impact factor.
  • Monitor and follow up on meeting minutes of the Academic Integrity and Academic Accreditation Committee.
  • Monitor and follow up on the periodical classification of the UF academic journals and issuing new journals.
  • Promote for the participation of researchers in the Iraqi Science Day Award.  
  • Monitor the completion of R&D measurement forms for university faculty and researchers.
  • Monitor the completion of pioneering research projects at the university.
  • Organize and monitor local and abroad academic postdoc for faculty members for research purposes 
  • Nominate faculty, including faculty members and staff, to participate in conferences, scientific seminars, and workshops inside or outside Iraq.
  • Follow up on the updating and modernizing of undergraduate and graduate program curricula.
  • Follow up on the faculty development program and research fellowship program.
  • Follow up on the registration of researchers on international research platforms including but not limited to Research Gate, ORCID, Publeon and Google Scholar.
  • Monitor the work of research teams, including their executive plans and collaborating with other official universities and institutions to create joint research teams.
  • Forward faculty academic and research presentations (Seminar Presentations) to the MOHESR Department of Oversight and Academic Evaluation.
