Department of Legal Affairs

   The division of legal affairs was formed in January 2015 within the structure of university department of legal and administrative affairs. The division mandate expanded to be an independent department in early 2017.

 The department aims to:


  • Realize integrability with other departments in a manner that fulfills job efficiency. 
  • Promote for legal awareness in a bid to attain job excellence.
  • Enhance the legal and administrative capacities of the legal and administrative personnel.
  • Draw the legal tracks for the university performance in a manner, which realizes legitimacy.
  • Preserve the university assets, properties and real estates.


Department formations

             The department is made of three offices.

         • Office of Legal Counseling

         • Office of Rights & Litigation

         • Office of civils rights and warranties

         • Office of properties and personnel Housing


Job Mandate Description

  • Offer the legal counseling in line with laws regulations in effect.
  • Offer statement of opinions in legal matters, bills and bylaws.
  • Represent the university before the legal institutions. Litigate and offer legal feedbacks on university’s behalf.
  • Follow up on the university properties. Coordinate with relevant local facilities to allot and purchase land plots and process property transfer legal paperwork
  • Follow up on lawsuits raised by any given claimant as well as the lawsuits that the university raises before courts.
  • Draft and release the warranties, legal bonds and certified contracts.
  • Contribute to work of audit and probe committees in a manner which aligns with the department mandate.
  • Follow up on the seizure decisions released by executive bodies as far as the university personnel is concerned.
  • Set up an expelled staff database.
  • Draft business contracts with other parties, renew them in line with the set forth timescale.
  • Participate in probe committees and review raised appeals and complaints that are related to the University staff/faculty.
